Przedstawienie Rewolucji Meksykańskiej w powieści postmodernistycznej na przykładzie "Los relámpagos de agosto" Jorge Ibargüengoiti.

A portrayal of the Mexican Revolution in the postmodern novel. An analysis of "The Lightning of August" by Jorge Ibargüengoitia.

Niniejsza praca ma na celu ukazanie wpływu, jaki Rewolucja Meksykańska wywarła na prozę XX wieku. Podstawą do rozważań będzie zarys tła historycznego przedstawiony na wstępie. Następnie zaprezentowany zostanie rozwój tzw. powieści o Rewolucji Meksykańskiej od klasycznej estetyki realistycznej, poprzez realizm symboliczny, aż do nowej prozy i powieści postmodernistycznej. Przeanalizujemy kluczowe pozycje literatury meksykańskiej, zarówno te, które stanowią apoteozę osiągnięć Rewolucji oraz samego wydarzenia, jak i te, które skupiają się na podkreśleniu jej negatywnych aspektów. W dalszej części, postaramy się zgłębić temat parodii i satyry zaznaczając podstawowe elementy charakteryzujące te dwa gatunki. Dysponując powyższą bazą teoretyczną, rozpoczniemy analizę powieści współczesnego pisarza Jorge Ibargüengoiti zatytułowaną Los relámpagos de agosto. Ponadto, postaramy się pokrótce przybliżyć sylwetkę autora, jakże mało znanego polskiemu czytelnikowi. W naszych rozważaniach, skupimy się przede wszystkim na aspektach parodystycznych i satyrycznych, stanowiących główne elementy składowe powieści. Los relámpagos de agosto wyróżnia się na tle innych utworów podejmujących temat Rewolucji Meksykańskiej, przede wszystkim użyciem całej serii zabiegów humorystycznych, bezlitośnie obdzierając ją z niemalże sakralnego kultu - co postaramy się udowodnić.

The objective of this work is to show the impact that the Mexican Revolution has had on the prose of the twentieth century. Our theoritical basis will be the outline of the historical background presented at the beginning. Next, we will present the development of the novels of the Mexican Revolution from classical realistic, through symbolic realism to postmodern novels. We will examine key items in Mexican literature, both those that represent the apotheosis of the achievements of the Revolution and the event itself, and those that focus on emphasising its negative aspects. In the next part, we will explore the theory of parody and satire by highlighting the basic elements characterizing these two forms. Then, we will analyze the novel by contemporary writer Jorge Ibargüengoitia entitled The lightening of august. In addition, we will try to present the profile of the author, so little known to the Polish reader. In our deliberations, we will focus primarily on the parodistic and satirical aspects that constitute the main components of the novel and that make The lightening of august stands out from other novels on the Mexican Revolution, ruthlessly stripping it of almost sacred cult.

El presente trabajo tiene por objetivo demostrar el gran impacto que la Revolución Mexicana ejerció sobre la narrativa del siglo XX. Primero, se presentará el trasfondo histórico, es decir, las principales causas, los antecedentes y las consecuencias de la Revolución. Luego, serán analizadas las obras más significativas pertenecientes al subgénero de las novelas de la Revolución Mexicana. Asimismo, estudiaremos el desarrollo de la novelística mexicana que se sirvió de este tema. Luego, pasaremos al análisis de Los relámpagos de agosto de Jorge Ibargüengoitia poniendo énfasis, ante todo, en su carácter paródico y satírico. Se demostrará de este modo el cambio radical en la manera de tratar el tema revolucionario donde el uso de elementos humorísticos conduce a desmitificación de héroes y desacralización de la Revolución.
