The message of selected rock songs from the 60s and 70s of the twentieth century as an expression of the counterculture's idea in the hippie movement in the United States

Celem pracy jest udowodnienie, że przekaz wybranych utworów rockowych z lat 60. i 70. XX wieku, odnosił się do ideologii ruchu hippisowskiego w Stanach Zjednoczonych. Na początku, w kontekście ruchu hippisowskiego, wytłumaczone zostały pojęcia: kontestacji kulturowej, kontrkultury, ruchów społecznych i społeczeństwa alternatywnego. W pierwszym rozdziale przedstawiony został także fenomen zjawiska kontrkultury lat 50. i 60. na tle sytuacji społecznej w Stanach Zjednoczonych. Druga cześć odnosi się do ruchu hippisowskiego: nazwy, członków i najważniejszych ideologów. Zawiera ona też historię ewolucji ideologii hippisowskiej oraz opis sposobu życia hippisów. Trzeci rozdział dotyczy przeprowadzonych badań. Do analizy utworów posłużyły metody jakościowe. Piosenki zostały podzielone na cztery kategorie (krytyka społeczna, miejsce hippisów w społeczeństwie, protest przeciwko przemocy, zażywanie narkotyków), w zależności od tego, do jakich elementów ideologii się odnosiły. Pracę wieńczą wnioski z badań, a także literatury przedmiotu.

The aim of this Bachelor Thesis is to prove that the message of selected rock songs of the 60s and 70s of the twentieth century was referring to ideology hippie movement in the United States. At the beginning, in the context of the hippie movement, are explained notion of cultural contestation, counterculture, social movement, alternative society. In this chapter also are presented the phenomenon of counter-culture of the 50s and 60s on the background the social situation in the United States. The second part relates to the hippie movement: name, members, and the most important ideologists. It includes a history of the evolution of the hippie ideology and a description of their the way of life . The third chapter is concerned with the research. For the analysis of lyrics have been used qualitative methods. The songs have been divided into four categories (social criticism, place of hippies in society, protest against violence, use drugs) depending on whether which elements of the ideology, in them have been described. Bachelor Thesis ends with the conclusions of the research, as well as of literature.
