Invitation to the contemporary museion

W artykule podjęty został temat przemian cywilizacyjnych i historycznych, które wpływają na przekształcenia w społecznym imaginarium, w tym na wzory partycypacji w kulturze, oczekiwania i potrzeby edukacyjne. Wprowadzone w tytule greckie słowo museion pojawia się jako pojęcie, które trzeba przywrócić zbiorowej świadomości. Pozwala ono scalać namysł nad takimi instytucjami, jak: muzea, biblioteki, uniwersytety, szkoły, inne ośrodki kultury, które prowadzą kulturotwórczą, edukacyjną i naukową działalność. Pojęcie museion, użyte metaforycznie i opatrzone epitetem „współczesny”, nie nazywa tutaj realnie istniejącego miejsca, ale odnosi się do przestrzeni kulturowej aktywności oraz edukacyjnej praktyki, w której spotykają się i na zasadzie synergii mogą się łączyć się działania autonomicznych instytucji.

The article deals with the issue of civilizational and historical transitions which affect the transformations within the social imaginarium, including the cultural participation patterns, expectations and educational needs. The Greek word museion, as used in the title, appears as a notion that is restored to the collective awareness in order to consolidate the considerations of numerous areas and autonomous entities (museums, libraries, universities, schools, and other cultural centers) which share the culture-forming, educational, and academic activities. Used metaphorically, along with the epithet ‘contemporary’, the museion notion does not indicate a place which exists in reality, but it refers to the space of cultural activity and educational practice, where the activities of different institutions take place and may merge by way of synergy.
