The attitudes of pedagogy students towards foster care

Celem niniejszej pracy było przedstawienie postaw studentów pedagogiki wobec instytucji rodzin zastępczych.W pracy podzielonej na trzy rozdziały, zostały zawarte informacje dotyczące funkcjonowania rodzin zastępczych oraz dane z badań własnych. Pierwszy rozdział zawiera analizę literatury przedmiotu oraz aktów prawnych. Zaprezentowane zostały najważniejsze zagadnienia terminologiczne związane ze specyfiką i funkcjonowaniem rodzin zastępczych oraz wyniki ogólnopolskich badań prowadzonych nad rodzinną pieczą zastępczą. Rozdział drugi poświęcony został metodologii badań własnych. Przedstawiono w nim koncepcję badań, opis problemu głównego oraz szczegółowych.Ostatni rozdział przedstawia analizę wyników badań przeprowadzonych przez autora. Dzięki zgromadzonemu materiałowi badawczemu udało się odpowiedzieć na postawione problemy, które dotyczyły opinii i wiedzy studentów na temat rodzin zastępczych oraz stopnia ich gotowości do podjęcia się roli rodzica zastępczego w przyszłości. Na zakończenie autor zwrócił uwagę na nowatorstwo i znaczenie przeprowadzonych badań, a także wysunął z nich wnioski.

The aim of this work is to reveal the attitudes of pedagogy students towards foster care. In the thesis, divided into three chapters, author included information about the role and performance of the foster families as well as the results from the conducted research.The first chapter contains literature review and the analysis of the relevant legislation. In particular, it outlines the most important terminological issues directly relating to the functioning of the foster families. This part also incorporates the results of the nation-wide research on the subject of the foster-care conducted in Poland. Chapter two is committed to define scope and structure of the methods used to conduct the research. It comprises of the detailed descriptions of: the research concept, main and particular problems confronted by the subject methodology.The last chapter contains an insightful analysis of the research conducted by the author. Collected data proved sufficient to answer to questions of the thesis, concerning the opinions and knowledge on foster families held by students, as well as the level of subjective willingness to commit to the role of the foster parent in the future. The conclusion highlights the novelty and importance of the conducted research revealing the attitudes of the particular age and social group of the pedagogy students towards foster care.
