Dualism in perceiving human in Kant’s practical philosophy

Zadaniem niniejszej pracy jest rozważenie konsekwencji dualizmu, wynikającego z trzeciej antynomii czystego rozumu, w ujmowaniu człowieka działającego w świecie. Główną osią pracy jest pojęcie wolności w filozofii Kanta. Autor bada możliwość zjednoczenia przyczynowości oraz wolności w jednym i tym samym działaniu konkretnego podmiotu. Przeanalizowane zostają problemy związane z dwoistym sposobem pojmowania człowieka: jako noumenalną osobę oraz jako przedstawienie intelektu. Podjęte zostaje pojęcie wolności praktycznej, stanowiące rozwinięcie idei wolności na polu filozofii moralnej. Istotnym pojęciem dla podmiotu moralnego jest pojęcie autonomii, które poszerza kontekst relacji między jego egzystencją inteligibilną a fenomenalną.

The aim of this thesis is to consider the consequences of dualism resulting from the third antinomy of pure reason in perceiving of human acting in the world. The core of this work is the concept of freedom in Kant’s philosophy. The author examines the possibility of unifying causality and freedom in one and the same action of a particular subject. Problems related to the dual way of understanding human – as a noumenal person and as an intellectual representation - are analyzed. Next, the concept of practical freedom, which is a development of the idea of freedom in the field of moral philosophy is considered. An essential notion for a moral subject is the notion of autonomy, which widens/expands context of relation between his intelligible and phenomenal existence.
