Representation of God and pro-social behaviour towards Ukrainian refugees: the mediating role of social trust.

Praca magisterska „Reprezentacja Boga a zachowania prospołeczne wobec uchodźców z Ukrainy: mediująca rola zaufania społecznego” skupia się na analizie korelacji trzech zmiennych: reprezentacji Boga (Bóg życzliwy vs autorytarny), pomocy aktywnej i życzliwej oraz zaufania uogólnionego. Celem pracy jest rozszerzenie dotychczasowych badań nad prospołecznością w kontekście kryzysu uchodźczego w Polce oraz wsparcie badań nad psychologicznymi korelatami zachowań prospołecznych, religijności i zaufania. W ramach pracy przeprowadzono badania korelacyjne (N=144). Wykazano pozytywną korelację pomiędzy reprezentacją Boga życzliwego i wyższymi wskaźnikami zaufania, oraz odwrotną korelację dla reprezentacji Boga autorytarnego i zaufania. Nie znaleziono poparcia dla hipotezy o mediującej roli zaufania społecznego pomiędzy reprezentacją Boga i skłonnością do pomagania.W pierwszych trzech rozdziałach prezentowane jest tło teoretyczne oraz dotychczasowe badania w ramach wskazanych zmiennych. W czwartym i piątym rozdziale prezentowany jest projekt badań własnych. Praca kończy się podsumowaniem wyników oraz wskazaniem limitacji projektu badawczego.

The thesis entitled "Representation of God and pro-social behavior towards Ukrainian refugees: the mediating role of social trust" focuses on the correlation analysis of three variables: representation of God (benevolent vs authoritarian), activist and benevolent help, and generalized trust. The objective of this study is to expand upon prior research on pro-social conduct in the context of the refugee crisis in Poland, and to explore the psychological factors that impact pro-social behavior, such as religiosity and trust.As part of the study, a correlational study was conducted (N=144). A positive correlation was found between the representation of a benevolent God and a higher trust rate, and an inverse correlation for the representation of an authoritarian God and trust. The hypothesis of a mediating role of social trust between representations of God and willingness to help was not supported.The initial three chapters provide a theoretical foundation and an analysis of previous research on the variables in question. The fourth and fifth chapters present the design of the author's own research. The paper concludes with a summary of the findings and a note on the limitations of the research project.
