Educational assumptions at the Montessori school

Tematem niniejszej pracy jest przybliżenie założeń pedagogiki, głoszonej przez Marię Montessori na początku XX wieku we Włoszech. Zwrócę uwagę nie tylko na to, jak pracują uczniowie w tym systemie edukacyjnym, ale również na rolę nauczyciela. Rozprawa składa się z pięciu rozdziałów. Pierwszy z nich jest poświęcony historii. Opisuję w nim, jakie wydarzenia z życia Marii Montessori przyczyniły się do stworzenia systemu, który bardzo szybko zyskał popularność na całym świecie. W rozdziale drugim przybliżę ogólne zasady, według których funkcjonuje system edukacji Marii Montessori. Kolejna część poświęcona jest roli, jaką pełni materiał rozwojowy. W tym rozdziale zawarte są informacje na temat tego, jak przygotowywany jest materiał do pracy z dziećmi i z jakich tworzyw może zostać wykonany. Rozdział czwarty w całości koncentruje się na roli, jaką pełni nauczyciel w szkole prowadzonej metodą Marii Montessori. Ostatni rozdział jest poświęcony wartościom, które w pewnym sensie przeważały w owej szkole. Praca ma na celu pokazać, jak wyglądał ten system edukacyjny. We współczesnej szkole trudno byłoby wprowadzić wszystkie założenia, które przez lata głosiła Montessori. Jednak warto zastanowić się nad tym, jakie elementy w jej pedagogice były naprawdę skuteczne i odnosiły efekty.

The subject of this work is to present the assumptions of pedagogy proclaimed by Maria Montessori at the beginning of the 20th century in Italy. I will pay attention not only to how students work in this educational system, but also to the role of the teacher. The discourse consists of five chapters. The first of these is dedicated to history. I describe in it what events in the life of Maria Montessori contributed to the creation of a system that quickly gained popularity all over the world. In chapter two, I will introduce the general principles according to which Maria Montessori's education system operates. The next part is devoted to the role of developmental material. This chapter provides information on how material is prepared for working with children and what materials can be made of. The fourth chapter focuses on the role of the teacher in the school. The last chapter is devoted to values which prevailed at that school. The work aims to show what this educational system looked like. In a modern school it would be difficult to introduce all the assumptions that Montessori has been proclaiming for years. However, it is worth considering what elements in her pedagogy were really effective.
