"Life in a totalitarian country on the example of China during the time of Mao Tse-tung"

Zagadnienia związane z polityką oraz codziennym życiem w krajach komunistycznego reżimu od zawsze należały do moich zainteresowań. Szczególnie fascynuje mnie okres rządów Mao Tse–tunga, przypadający na lata 1949– 1976, który uznałam za doskonały temat dla mojej pracy. Postanowiłam więc, że omówię w niej, w jaki sposób polityka Mao wpłynęła w owych latach na jakość życia mieszkańców Chińskiej Republiki Ludowej oraz jakie skutki jego decyzji są tam widoczne po dziś dzień. Pierwszy rozdział dotyczy historii myśli komunistycznej, jej drogi do Chin oraz początków działalności Mao. Następnie omawiam najważniejsze wydarzenia, które miały miejsce za jego rządów i jakie były ich konsekwencje dla obywateli Chin. W podsumowaniu staram się wskazać, jak wyglądało codziennie życie Chińczyków w latach 1949-1976 i czy kult Mao nadal jest obecny w ich państwie.

I have been always interested in the issues related to politics and everyday life in the countries of the communist regime. I am particularly fascinated by the period of Mao Tse-tung's rule, which was in 1949–1976, so I thought it would be an excellent topic for my work. I decided that I will discuss how Mao's policy influenced the quality of life of the people who were living in People's Republic of China in those years and what effects of his decisions are visible there to this day. The first chapter deals with the history of communist thought, its path to China and the beginnings of Mao's activities. Then I discuss the most important events that took place during his rule and what their consequences were on the citizens of China. In the summary I try to show what the everyday life of the Chinese in 1949-1976 was like and whether the cult of Mao is still present in their country.
