The problem of poverty in Poland and its resolution at the local level on the example of the municipality of Rymanów

W pracy omówiono zagadnienia dotyczące ubóstwa i wykluczenia społecznego. Celem pracy było przedstawienie problemu jakim jest ubóstwo, a także jego rozwiązywanie na szczeblu lokalnym. W poszczególnych rozdziałach pracy wyjaśniono pojęcie pomocy społecznej oraz opisano cele i funkcje pomocy społecznej. W kolejnej części przedstawiono zadania pracownika socjalnego w rozwiązywaniu problemów społecznych. W końcowej części pracy skupiono się na charakterystyce gminy Rymanów oraz analizie problemów społecznych mieszkańców tej gminy, a także przedstawiono funkcjonowanie Gminnego Ośrodka Pomocy Społecznej.

In the present study we have analyzed problems considering poverty and social exclusion. The aim of the study was to present the problem and the phenomenon of the Poverty as well as its resolution at local level. The study is composed of three theoretical chapters and of the empirical one. Each chapter explains the term of Social Security Work and describes its aims and functions. In the next part we have presented a role and tasks of a social worker in resolution of social problems. In the final part of the study we have concentrated on the characteristics of municipality Rymanów and on the analysis of social problems of its citizens. We have presented as well the functioning of Municipal Social Welfare Center.
