Celem niniejszej pracy jest tłumaczenie książki autorstwa Giuseppe Culicchii, zatytułowanej "Torino è casa mia", i tym samym przybliżenie polskiemu czytelnikowi Turynu, jako miasta dalekiego od powszechnie panującego stereotypu przemysłowej metropolii. Praca składa się z dwóch części opatrzonych krótkim wprowadzeniem. Część pierwszą stanowi przekład, natomiast część druga zawiera komentarz na temat niektórych problemów tłumaczeniowych, poprzedzony wstępem i zakończony podsumowaniem. Kryterium zastosowane przy wyborze omówionych zagadnień to częstotliwość z jaką pojawiają się one w tekście, oraz stopień trudności jaki stanowią w procesie tłumaczenia. Komentarz odzwierciedla podejście praktyczne do sfery przekładu - techniki tłumaczeniowe proponowane przez różnych uczonych, m.in P. Newmarka, K. Hejwowskiego, J. Brzozowskiego i L. Venutiego, zostały zastosowane w oparciu o kontekst i funkcję językową danego fragmentu książki.

The purpose of the following thesis is to translate the book of Giuseppe Culicchia "Torino è casa mia", and to introduce Turin to the polish reader as a city far removed from prevailing cliché of an industrial metropolis. This thesis is composed of two parts preceded by a brief foreword. The first part contains the translation, whereas the second one consists of a review of some translational problems, in turn preceded by an introduction and followed by conclusions. The issues discussed were chosen according to the frequency with which they appear in the text, as well as the difficulties posed by them during the translational process. The review reflects the practical approach to translation – the translation techniques proposed by several scholars, including P. Newmark, K. Hejwowski, J. Brzozowski and L. Venuti, have been used depending on the context and linguistic function of a given fragment of the book.

Lo scopo della presente tesi di laurea è quello di tradurre il libro di Giuseppe Culicchia intitolato "Torino è casa mia", e quindi di presentare Torino al lettore polacco come una città lontana da un luogo comune di una metropoli industriale. La tesi è composta da due parti precedute da una breve premessa. La parte prima contiene la traduzione, mentre la parte seconda è costituita da un commento su alcuni problemi traduttivi, preceduto a sua volta da un’introduzione e seguito da conclusioni. Le questioni discusse sono state scelte in funzione alla frequenza con cui appaiono nel testo, nonché alle difficoltà poste da esse nel corso del processo traduttivo. Il commento rispecchia l’approccio pratico alla traduzione: le tecniche traduttive proposte da vari studiosi, tra cui P. Newmark, K. Hejwowski, J. Brzozowski e L. Venuti, sono state adoperate a seconda del contesto e della funzione linguistica di un dato frammento del libro.
