Management of public and private theaters on the example of selected institutions of Cracow

Celem pracy jest porównanie funkcjonowania wybranych teatrów publicznych i prywatnych w Krakowie i ocena efektywności ich zarządzania. Praca składa się z trzech rozdziałów. Pierwszy z nich dotyczy pojęcia kultury i jej roli w życiu człowieka, drugi natomiast to omówienie działania instytucji kultury w Polsce oraz specyfika zarządzania teatrem. Trzeci rozdział obejmuje charakterystykę sektora kultury w Krakowie, opis wybranych krakowskich teatrów oraz analizę zarządzania tych teatrów z punktu widzenia ich klientów oraz osób nimi zarządzających. Praca wykazała, że to teatry publiczne są zarządzane w sposób bardziej efektywny.

The aim of this work is to compare the operation of selected public and private theaters in Cracow and evaluate the effectiveness of their management . The work consists of three chapters. The first concerns the concept of culture and its role in human life, and the other is a discussion of the operation of cultural institutions in Poland and the specificity of theater management . The third chapter is characteristic of the cultural sector in Cracow, a description of some of Cracow's theaters and the theater management analysis from the point of view of their customers and the people managing them . Work has shown that this public theaters are managed in a more efficient manner.
