Melancholy of the intellectual in the post-war prose of Stanisław Dygat

Celem mojej pracy jest omówienie postawy inteligenta powojennego w twórczości Stanisława Dygata. Jego sposób postrzegania świata przedstawionego opiera się na ciągłym dystansowaniu, a także kwestionowaniu zasad społecznej rzeczywistości. W utworach Dygata widoczne są problemy tożsamości, decyzji życiowych jednostki oraz ludzkiej odpowiedzialności. W analizie bohatera literackiego i świata przedstawionego w prozie Dygata pomocne stały się kategorie, takie jak „melancholia”, „inteligenckość”, "nostalgia", „antybohater", „nuda”. Ważnym tematem stały się również powojenne strategie narracyjne i kontekst środowiska krytyczno-literackiego.

The aim of this paper was to discuss the attitude of a post-war intellectual in the work of Stanisław Dygat. His way of perceiving the presented world is based on a constant distancing as well as questioning the principles of social reality. In Dygat's works there are problems of identity, life decisions of the individual and human responsibility. In the analysis of the literary hero and the world presented in Dygat's prose, categories such as "melancholy", "intelligentsia", "nostalgia", "antihero", "boredom" became useful. Post-war narrative strategies and the context of the critical environment became important literary topics.
