Jak unowocześnić szkolne nauczanie składni? : refleksje metodologiczno-metodyczne
How to modernize school teaching syntax? : methodological and methodical reflections

The author tries to indicate the ways to modernize the school language training in the scope of the syntax. The main proposed amendments relate to the theory of grammar. School syntactic knowledge based on the model by Zenon Klemensiewicz in the context of contemporary linguistic research seems to be obsolete and needs to be updated. In view of the plethora of new methodologies of the Polish syntax system description, the best solution seems to be the creation of an eclectic model, drawing the most didactically useful elements of the description of different models of syntax. The modern approach to language is not based on the sentence any longer, but on the text. The most essential proposal of the author is to replace the traditional analysis with the functional analysis of the text. One of the ways to modernize the linguistic competence acquisition methods is the possibility to create a computer program or an e-learning course available on the Internet. In conclusion, the author states that the most important sign of modernity in language learning is the integration of grammar/syntax with other branches of knowledge, grammatical theory with practice and secondary school education with university one.
