Academic worker's behaviors toward scientific crowdsourcing : a systematic literature review
Na publ. nieaktywne DOI: 10.1201/9781003102298_8
Research on crowdsourcing in management and quality sciences has been conducted intensively for ten years and the number of publications on crowdsourcing is constantly growing. Recently, scientists have suggested that scientific crowdsourcing may pose a valuable tool to support scientific research, a new model of work of academic teachers, which complements a traditional approach to science, and it is the next step in development of science. However, the literature stresses that the success of crowdsourcing initiatives depends on the academic teachers themselves and their intentions to use solutions based on crowdsourcing in science. The aim of this chapter is to summarize and review the research that has been carried out on academic workers’ behaviors related to scientific crowdsourcing. This chapter begins with an introduction to the crowdsourcing and scientific crowdsourcing and Theory of Planned Behavior. Then it presents methodology that covers search strategy and identification of sources. Finally, findings of systematic literature review are presented. Each section details a specific aspect of behavior of scientific workers, especially their attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control are presented.
