The Analysis of Aizuchi and Their Translational Variants In Movie Translation

Celem niniejszej pracy jest analiza aizuchi, a także ich wariantów tłumaczeniowych w przekładzie filmowym. W pierwszym rozdziale autor pracy omawia funkcję fatyczną języka, a także jej rolę w komunikacji oraz języku japońskim. Następnie przedstawia definicje aizuchi oraz klasyfikacje omawianych wyrażeń. Skupia się również na fonologii i morfologii aizuchi oraz ich miejscu w komunikacji japońskiej. W kolejnej części omawia problematykę tłumaczenia filmowego i ograniczeń technik przekładu filmowego. Pod koniec pracy analizuje pod względem przekładu aizuchi zarówno produkcje filmowe japońskie, jak i zachodnie. Wnioski wynikające z analizy zawarte są w zakończeniu.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze Japanese aizuchi and their translational variants in movie translation. First, the author discusses the phatic function of language as well as its role in communication and Japanese language. Next, he presents definitions and classifications of aizuchi. In this part the author also focuses on the phonology and morphology of aizuchi and their place in Japanese communication. Then, he discusses the issues of movie translation and the limitations of various translation techniques. Finally, the author analyses the translation of aizuchi in both Japanese and Western movies. At the end, the conclusions resulting from the analysis are presented.
