Retoryka partii populistycznych w Parlamencie Europejskim

Celem pracy licencjackiej jest analiza retoryki partii populistycznych i sposobu w jaki populistyczni politycy konstruują swój dyskurs. Tego rodzaju partie polityczne, choć nie są identyczne i różnią się w wielu aspektach, używają podobnych taktyk retorycznych. Właśnie dlatego za przykład została wybrana jedna partia, tj. Partia Niepodległości Zjednoczonego Królestwa (United Kingdom Independence Party, UKIP). W pracy analizowane są wybrane przemowy dwóch głównych polityków tej partii : Nigel’a Farage’a i Paul’a Nuttall’a. Po wyborach w 2014 roku liczba polityków populistycznych w Parlamencie Europejskim znacznie wzrosła, dlatego właśnie to miejsce uznane zostało za wartościowe źródło badań. Pierwszy rozdział pracy jest czysto teoretyczny, natomiast drugi skupia się na dyskursie populistów, obejmując ich taktyki, słownictwo, budowę zdań i użycie środków artystycznego wyrazu.

The aim of the thesis is to analyse the populist politicians’ rhetoric and the way populist politician construct their discourse. It is a fact that populist parties are not identical and vary in many aspects but they still use parallel tactics and rhetoric. On this account one party was chosen, which is United Kingdom Independence Party, as an example of a populist phenomenon. The analysis is focused on the selected speeches of two major politicians : Nigel Farage and Paul Nuttall. After the election in 2014, the number of populist politicians in the European Parliament has increased considerably. That is why I chose European Parliament as a valuable source for introducing and observing populist rhetoric. The first chapter is purely theoretical, in the second chapter of my paper I will closely analyze the characteristics of the populist discourse, its tactics, lexicon, syntax and rhetorical figures.
