"I can't explain it, but...". A Mosaic of Experiences of the Global Problem COVID-19.

Koronawirus naznaczył rzeczywistość, zmieniając dotychczas przyjęty porządek rzeczy. Z jednej strony dało to początek nowemu wydźwiękowi społecznych dyskursów, z drugiej odnowiło stare mechanizmy rządzące ludzkim pojmowaniem świata. Celem niniejszej pracy jest ukazanie owej różnorodności, a także próba zrozumienia złożoności doświadczania globalnego problemu jakim jest pandemia COVID-19. Badania przeprowadziłam w oparciu o metody etnografii wielostanowiskowej i podstawy teorii ugruntowanej, obracając się w rozmaitych kontekstach społeczno-kulturowych, a także zagłębiając się w świat wirtualny. Zdecydowałam się na niezdefiniowanie terenu czy grupy rozmówców w jakiekolwiek ramy semantyczne, pozostawiając możliwość do ich (samo)eksploracji. Czas COVID-19 stał się czasem apokaliptycznego karnawału doświadczeń. Sam koronawirus zaś ukazał się jako byt liminalny, którego nieuchwytny graniczny charakter nieustannie oddziałuje na przeżywaną rzeczywistość. Pandemia zlustrowała się jako okres pełen niezwykłości, gdzie szczepienia stają się kategorią tożsamościową, rośnie polaryzacja społeczna, a symbole przyjmują nowe znaczenia. COVID-19 jest problematyką ogromnie szeroką i wielowarstwową, będącą w ciągłym kształceniu. Niniejsza praca ukazuje tylko ułamek jej rozległości.

The coronavirus has impacted the reality by changing the previously adopted order of things. On one hand, it gave a beginning to a new resonance of social discourses, and on the other, it renewed the old mechanisms that govern the human understanding of the world. The aim of this study is to show this diversity, as well as an attempt to understand the complexity of experiencing the global problem of the COVID-19 pandemic. I conducted my research based on the methods of multi-station ethnography and the basics of grounded theory, while functioning in various socio-cultural contexts, as well as delving into the virtual world. I decided not to define my field the nor the group of interlocutors into any semantic framework, leaving the space for their (self)exploration. The time of COVID-19 has become a time of an apocalyptic carnival of experiences. The coronavirus itself appeared as a liminal entity, the elusive border nature of which constantly affects the experienced reality. The pandemic has seen itself as a period of extraordinariness, where vaccination becomes an identity category, social polarization grows, and symbols take on new meanings. COVID-19 is an extremely broad and multi-layered issue that is undergoing continuous learning. This work shows only a fraction of its extent.
