Singular homology groups and their applications

Celem niniejszej pracy jest analiza pewnego rodzaju algebraicznych niezmienników przestrzeni topologicznych, zwanych grupami homologii singularnych, oraz prezentacja ich najważniejszych zastosowań. W pracy przedstawione zostały podstawowe zagadnienia teoretyczne, wprowadzone zostały pojęcia sympleksu, łańcuchów singularnych oraz ciągów ich grup zwanych kompleksami singularnymi. Ponadto omówione zostały odwzorowania homotopijne oraz ich własność zwana homotopijną niezmienniczością homologii. Na końcu przedstawione zostały również szczególne przypadki omawianych zagadnień.

The aim of the present work is to analyze certain sets of algebraic invariants of a topological space, called singular homology groups, and to show their main applications. The work presents main theoretical issues, especially notions of simplex, singular chains and their sequences called singular chain complexes. In addition, there was defined the notion of homotopic maps and their important property whis is invariance under homotopy. At the end of this work there were shown some special cases of discussed issues.
