Od slangu do tożsamości: Analiza ewolucji slangu drag i jego wpływu na kreowanie tożsamości w programie RuPaul’s Drag Race

Niniejsza praca ogniskuje się wokół terminologii drag używanej w programie RuPaul’s Drag Race i bada dynamiczną interakcję między językiem a kulturą drag. Badanie pokazuje, w jaki sposób slang drag odzwierciedla przemiany kulturowe i oddaje istotę relacji społecznych, analizując rolę języka w konstruowaniu tożsamości, wspieraniu więzi społecznych i stymulowaniu zmian społecznych w występach drag. Praca bada różnorodne funkcje języka w konstruowaniu tożsamości, nawiązywaniu kontaktów i promowaniu zmian społecznych. Celem badania była ponadto identyfikacja zmian w użyciu slangu drag w różnych sezonach RuPaul’s Drag Race, mająca rzucić światło na jego zmieniającą się dynamikę i większe znaczenie kulturowe.

Focusing on the drag terminology used in RuPaul’s Drag Race, this study explores the dynamic interaction between language and drag culture. The study reveals how drag slang reflects cultural transformations and captures the essence of social relationships, analysing the role of language in constructing identity, fostering social bonds and stimulating social change within drag performances. The study explores the diverse functions of language in constructing personas, making connections and promoting social change. This study aims to identify changes in the use of drag slang over the seasons on the RuPaul’s Drag Race programme, to shed light on its changing dynamics and greater cultural significance.
