Attitudes of youth and middle aged people towards elderly

Celem niniejszej pracy jest przedstawienie różnic w postawach przejawianych przez ludzi w wieku młodym i średnim wobec osób starszych. Ankietowani należeli do zróżnicowanych ze względu na wiek grup: uczniów szkoły średniej w wieku 15 – 19 lat (n=35), młodych dorosłych w wieku 20 – 30 lat (n=35) oraz dorosłych w wieku średnim 31 – 60 lat (n=35). Próba badawcza obejmowała 105 osób. Do pomiaru została użyta skala P-LS N. Kogana w adaptacji autorki pracy oraz test niedokończonych zdań P. Golde i N. Kogana również zmodyfikowany na potrzeby pracy. Testy te ukazały neutralność postaw wśród większości ankietowanych. Porównanie wyników wszystkich grup wiekowych nie wykazało istotnych statystycznie różnic pomiędzy nimi.

The purpose of this study was to reveal differences of attitudes of the people in young age and middle-aged to elderly. Respondents belonged to three age groups: teenagers at age 15 – 19 years (n=35), young and middle adults at ages: 20 – 30 years (n=35) and 31 – 60 years (n=35). The total sample consisted of 105 participants. The Attitudes Toward Old Persons Scale by N. Kogan in adaptation of the author of this thesis was applied, as well as Test of Unfinished Sentences by P. Golde and N. Kogan also with changes made by the author. These tests revealed neutrality of attitudes among the majority of respondents. Comparison of the results of all groups showed no statistically significant differences between them.
