Krakow in the eyes of foreign tourists

Kraków należy do najważniejszych ośrodków turystycznych w Polsce, każdego roku odwiedzają go rzesze turystów, w tym liczni turyści zagraniczni. Głównym celem badań było pozyskanie informacji na temat turystów zagranicznych odwiedzających miasto, jak i próba stworzenia wizerunku miasta, widzianego z perspektywy turystów zagranicznych. Metodą zastosowaną w niniejszej pracy był kwestionariusz ankiety, zbieranie danych polegało na przeprowadzeniu wywiadu bezpośredniego wśród turystów zagranicznych. Praca liczy pięć rozdziałów. W pierwszym, teoretycznym przedstawiono zarys etymologii pojęcia turystyki i turysty na świecie oraz wyjaśniono podstawowe terminy związane z turystyką. W rozdziale drugim scharakteryzowano turystykę miejską. Rozdział trzeci zawiera opis zastosowanej metody. Wyniki pracy scharakteryzowano w rozdziale czwartym. W rozdziale piątym porównano uzyskane wyniki z danymi pochodzącymi z corocznych raportów monitorujących ruch turystyczny w Krakowie, opracowywanych przez Małopolską Organizacje Turystyczną na zlecenie Urzędu Miasta Krakowa.

Krakow is one of the most important tourist centers in Poland, each year thousands of tourists visit it, including many foreign tourists. The main objective of this study was to obtain information on foreign tourists visiting the city, as well as the attempt to create the image of the city as seen from the perspective of foreign tourists. The method used in this study was a questionnaire survey to collect data on the interview consisted of direct foreign tourists. Work consists of five chapters. In the first, theoretical concepts outlined etymology of tourism and tourists in the world, and explains the basic terms related to tourism. In the second chapter characterizes urban tourism. The third chapter contains a description of the method used. Our results were characterized in chapter four. In chapter five, the results were compared with data from the annual monitoring reports of tourists in Krakow, Malopolska developed by the Tourist Organization on behalf of the City of Krakow.
