Institutional and legal aspects of the development of the cryptocurrency market in East Asia and Southeast Asia

Praca skupia się na zjawisku kryptowalut w regionie Azji Wschodniej oraz Azji Południowo-Wschodniej. We wstępnej części pracy został wyjaśniony schemat powstawania oraz działania kryptowalut. W dalszej części został przedstawiony aktualny stan prawny w wybranych państwach azjatyckich. Jak wynika z analiz, istnieje wiele korzyści, ale i zagrożeń wynikających w działalności związanej z kryptowalutami. Gdy jedne kraje dostrzegają wiele wyzwań i zagrożeń, dla niektórych państw jest to szansa na szybki rozwój nie tylko technologiczny, ale i rozwój gospodarczy.

The work focuses on the phenomenon of cryptocurrencies in the region of East Asia and Southeast Asia. The scheme of formation and operation of cryptocurrencies was explained in the initial part of the work. Next the current legal status of selected Asian countries is presented. As the analysis shows, there are many benefits but also risks arising in the cryptocurrency turnover. When some countries see many challenges and threats, for some countries it is an opportunity for rapid development of economic and not only technological nature.
