Relationship of identity styles to the severity of stress symptoms and post-traumatic growth associated with the Covid-19 pandemic in adolescence

Celem badań przedstawionych w pracy było określenie związków stylów tożsamości młodzieży z nasileniem stresu pourazowego, którego adolescenci mogli doświadczyć w czasie pandemii Covid-19 i wzrostem potraumatycznym. W badaniu brało udział 115 adolescentów, z tego 89 kobiet i 26 mężczyzn w wieku 15-18 lat. Wykorzystano następujące metody badawcze: ISI-5 – Inwentarz Stylów Tożsamości (Identity Style Inventory), PTSD Checklist for DSM-5 – PCL5 i PTGI - Inwentarz Potraumatycznego Wzrostu (Posttraumatic Growth Inventory). Przeprowadzono analizę korelacji, której wyniki wykazały związek nasilenia stylu informacyjnego ze zmianami percepcji siebie w ramach potraumatycznego wzrostu, jak również związek nasilenia stylu normatywnego ze zmianami duchowymi, a także związek stylu dyfuzyjno -unikowego ze stresem pourazowym. Badania wykazały również, że styl informacyjny koreluje ze wszystkimi czynnikami potraumatycznego wzrostu.

The purpose of the study presented in this paper was to determine the associations of adolescents' identity styles with the severity of a post-traumatic stress that adolescents may have experienced during the Covid-19 pandemic and a post-traumatic growth. The study involved 115 adolescents, including 89 females and 26 males aged 15-18. The following research methods were used: ISI-5 - Identity Style Inventory, PTSD Checklist for DSM-5 - PCL5 and PTGI - Posttraumatic Growth Inventory. A correlation analysis was conducted, the results of which showed an association of information style intensity with changes in self-perception within the framework of a post-traumatic growth, as well as an association of normative style intensity with spiritual changes, and an association of diffusion-communicative style with a post-traumatic stress. The study also found that informational style correlates with all factors of a post-traumatic growth.
