Celem niniejszej pracy magisterskiej jest ukazanie bogatej historii i roli jaką odgrywa Żandarmeria Wojskowa w Siłach Zbrojnych RP. Formacja ta poprzez wieki towarzyszy polskiemu wojsku i stoi na straży dyscypliny wojskowej, ale również i porządku i bezpieczeństwa publicznego. Obecna forma tej służby kształtowała się przez wieki czerpiąc swoją inspirację z napoleońskiej La Gendarmerie. Elastyczność i możliwość dopasowywania się do sytuacji sprawia, że ŻW jest jednym z najważniejszych filarów bezpieczeństwa w Polsce.

Abstract in English

The purpose of this master's thesis is to show the history and functions played by the Military Police in the Polish Armed Forces. This formation has been accompanying the Polish Army for centuries and protects military discipline, but also public order and security. The current form of this service has evolved over the centuries, taking its inspiration from Napoleonic La Gendarmerie. Flexibility and the ability to adapt to the situation makes MP one of the most important security pillars in Poland.
