Comparison of the constitutional position of presidents of the Republic of Poland and the Italian Republic

Przedmiotem mojej pracy magisterskiej jest porównanie pozycji ustrojowej prezydentów Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej i Republiki Włoskiej. Zarówno Polska jak i Włochy zaliczane są do grona państw o parlamentarno – gabinetowym modelu rządów, nie jest to jednak równoznaczne z identyczną pozycją głowy państwa w świetle obu Konstytucji. W swojej pracy skupiłam się właśnie na znalezieniu różnic i podobieństw ukształtowania pozycji prezydenta w omawianych państwach, udowadniając, że często subtelne różnice mogą mieć duży wpływ na zakres działań, które osoba piastująca urząd prezydenta może podejmować. Do wniosków końcowych prowadzi uprzednie omówienie najpopularniejszych modelów rządów na świecie (rozdział I), pozycji ustrojowej prezydenta Polski (rozdział II) i odpowiednio – prezydenta Włoch (rozdział III) a także syntetyczne porównanie obu regulacji (rozdział IV). Jestem przekonana, że lektura mojej pracy dostarczy czytelnikowi wystarczającej ilości informacji do wyrobienia sobie własnej opinii na temat obu regulacji i dostrzeżenia w nich zarówno zalet jak i wad.

The subject of the master thesis is to compare the political position of the presidents of the Republic of Poland and the Italian Republic. Both Poland and Italy are among the group of countries with parliamentary - cabinet model of governance, but this does not mean that the position of the head of the state is identical in the light of both Constitutions. In my thesis I focused mainly on finding the similarities and differences in the president's position in those countries, proving that often subtle differences can have a big impact on the range of activities that the person elected to the office of a president can do. In my thesis I wrote about the most popular models of governments in the world (chapter I), the President of Poland constitutional position (chapter II), the President of Italy constitutional position (chapter III) and I also made synthetic comparison of both regulations (chapter IV). I am convinced that reading my thesis will give the reader possibility to find his own opinion about both regulations and perceive in them both advantages and disadvantages.
