Niniejszy rozdział prezentuje wieloaspektową problematykę zarządzania dziedzictwem sakralnym na terenach wschodniej Polski, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem pozytywnych praktyk w sferze renowacji oraz promowania dziedzictwa materialnego mniejszości religijnej. Punktem odniesienia rozważań jest historia cerkwi oraz parafii prawosławnej pw. Zaśnięcia Najświętszej Maryi Panny w Hrubieszowie, które wraz z początkiem XXI w. przeszły wiele intensywnych przemian. Dotyczą one zarówno gruntownej renowacji świątyni, jak i stopniowej zmiany sposobu zarządzania obiektem sakralnym i parafią, z uwzględnieniem budowania poczucia dumy z dziedzictwa religijnego oraz kształtowania rozwijającego się dynamicznie ruchu turystycznego na terenie wschodniej Polski. Cerkiew prawosławna w Hrubieszowie, począwszy od 2012 r. stała się ważnym punktem wycieczek turystów z Polski oraz krajów zza wschodniej granicy, co świadczy o dużym potencjale Lubelszczyzny jako obszaru wielokulturowego oraz bogatego w tradycje rozmaitych narodowości, religii i języków.

The purpose of the chapter is to present the multifaceted problems of religious heritage management in Eastern Poland, with particular emphasis on the indication of positive practices in the field of restoration and promotion of material heritage of religious minorities. The reference point of these considerations is the story of the orthodox church and orthodox parish of the Virgin's Mary Dormition in Hrubieszow, that has undergone many extensive changes at the beginning of the 21st century. They concern both major renovation of the temple and the gradual change in the way of management, with an emphasis on building a sense of pride in shaping religious heritage and dynamic developing tourism in the Eastern Poland. The orthodox church in Hrubieszow starting from 2012 has become an important touristic site for visitors from Poland and other Eastern European countries, which demonstrates the great potential of Lublin voivodeship as a multicultural area, rich in traditions and customs of various nationalities, religions and languages.
