SUMMARYThe work is an attempt to delve into the poetry of Juan Ramón Jiménez in order to see how the sea motif is presented in it. First, the biography of Juan Ramón Jiménez and his wife Zenobia Camprubí is presented. Later, the topic of Juan Ramón Jiménez's poetic works is discussed, focusing primarily on the first two stages that are necessary to understand the poetry analyzed later. The last part of the work talks about the importance of Diary of a newlywed poet for Spanish literature and proceeds to the analysis of the sea motif in poems selected from this work.

RESUMENEl trabajo es un intento a acercarse a la poesía de Juan Ramón Jiménez para ver como está presentado en ella el mar. Primero se presenta la biografía de Juan Ramón Jiménez y su esposa Zenobia Camprubí. Después se trata el tema de la trayectoria poética de Juan Ramón Jiménez fijándose sobre todo en los dos primeros etapas que son esenciales en el entendimiento de la poesía debatida después. En la última parte se habla de la importancia del Diario de un poeta recién casado para la literatura española y se pasa al análisis del motivo del mar en los poemas seleccionados de esta obra.
