Pornographic movies seen by young women in Poland

Poniższa praca omawia podejście kobiet do filmów pornograficznych, wychodząc od omówienia problemów w definiowaniu pornografii jako zjawiska oraz argumentów jej zwolenników i przeciwników. Główną część pracy stanowi omówienie badań przeprowadzonych przez autorkę z młodymi Polkami, które miały na celu określenie skali, w jakiej kobiety mają styczność z pornografią a przede wszystkim stworzenie szczegółowych profili respondentek, które zgodziły się udzielić wywiadu, w kontekście ich stosunku do pornografii. Na podstawie przeprowadzonych badań stwierdzić można, że kobiety sięgają po pornografię z ciekawości i nierzadko staje się ona dla nich formą zastępczą w przypadku braku kontaktów seksualnych oraz nie wpływa w sposób znaczący na ich postrzeganie siebie jako kobiety.

This essay discusses a women’s approach to pornographic movies. The introductory part brings a review of problems in defining pornography as a phenomenon and discusses the arguments of its supporters and its opponents. The main part of the essay consists of an overview of research carried out by an author with a young Polish women. The aim of the research has been to define the scale of women’s contact with pornography and, primarily, create detailed profiles of respondents who agreed to give an interview about their attitude to pornography. Based on the research it can be concluded that women turn to pornography out of curiosity and, not infrequently, it becomes a substitute for them, in the event of lack of sexual contacts. What's more pornography seems to have no significant influence on their perception of them as a woman.
