Multigenerational migration chains of families from the village of Babica : an attempt to create a typology

The main aim of analysis presented in the article is an attempt of creating a typology of family multigenerational migration chains. The typology was constructed on the basis of studies conducted in Babica. The migration microhistories of researched families allowed to distinguish four models of multigenerational migration chains, which are the most popular among the families from Babica. These models are described as: traditionalists, Americans, wanderers and economists. The main variable, taken into consideration while constructing these models was the migration strategy chosen by selected families.
