The article discusses the possibility of reconstruction of the model of the diet of the inhabitants of the Barbaricum. The food economy and the diet of the “barbarian” Europe is reconstructed based on the results of the analysis of archaeological, archaeobotanical and archaeozoological sources and sources compared to information contained in ancient written texts and to ethnographic data.
