Artykuł zwraca uwagę na problem audiobooków, które mimo ogromnej popularności nie cieszą się zainteresowaniem krytyków i teoretyków. Na tle dobrze rozpoznanych słuchowisk audiobooki zostają przedstawione jajo odrębny i specyficzny rodzaj literatury fonicznej, posiadający własne cele i wpisujący się w aktualną problematykę refleksji humanistycznej. Zostaje postawiona teza, że w audiobookach głos staję się istotniejszy od brzmienia słów, a relacja z mówiącym autorem zaczyna poprzedzać relację z tekstem i znaczeniem. Analiza głosu od strony jego kulturowej recepcji i psychoanalizy prowadzi do obserwacji, że może być rozumiany jako znak jednostkowości, który pochłania, uwodzi i tworzy intymną, emocjonalną relację z mówiącym. Stanowi zarazem podstawę szczególnego doświadczenia tożsamości autora.

Despite the immense popularity of audiobooks, the phenomenon has not yet enjoyed much critical or theoretical attention. This article uses the well-studied genre of the radio drama as a backdrop to discuss the audiobook as a separate and specific type of phonic literature - one that has its own goals and inscribes itself into current debates within the humanities. Antonik argues that in the autiobook the voice becomes more importantthan the sound of words, while the listener’s relationship with the speaking author begins to take priority over the relationship with the text and its meaning. Having analysed the voice in the frameworks of its cultural reception and psychoanalysis, Antonik suggests that it can be understood as a sign of individuality - one that absorbs and seducesthe listener, creating an intimate and emotional relationship with the speaker, thus presenting the basis for a particular experience of the author’s identity.
