Tekst jest zarysem dziejów gabinetów sztuki i osobliwości jako formy wcześniejszej niż muzeum sztuki. Autor omawia etymologię, definicję, historię, sławne gabinety osobliwości, poszczególne typy gabinetów osobliwości na przestrzeni XV-XIX w. w Europie. Autor ukazuje typowe, przykładowe obiekty, które znajdowały się w gabinetach osobliwości. W końcu przedstawia kolekcje osobliwości, jakie znajdowały się w Uniwersytecie Jagiellońskim (Akademii Krakowskiej), obecnie w Muzeum UJ. W oryginalnym tekście dodano zdjęcia osobliwości z Muzeum UJ.

The text is the outline of the history of the cabinets of curiosities as a earlier form, before the museum of art. The author discuss etymology, definition, history, the famous cabinets of curiosities, especially the types of cabinets of curiosities in the space of Europe from 15th untill 19th century. The author presents for example the typical objects, that were in cabinets of curiosities. In the end he presents the collections of the curiosities, that exists at the Jagiellonian University (Cracow Academy), presently in the Museum of the Jagiellonian University, In the original text there were addited the photos of the curiosities from The Museum of the Jagiellonian University.
