On the ways and sideways of psychological interpretations of literature

Artykuł dotyczy interdyscyplinarnych związków między psychologią a literaturą we współczesnych kontekstach teoretycznych związanych z interpretacją. Najważniejsze przeanalizowane kwestie dotyczą: relacji między autorem a podmiotem literackim, mimesis i kwestii reprezentacji w tekstach literackich oraz faktograficznych oraz gatunkowości jako elementu, który musi zostać uwzględniony w psychologicznej analizie tekstu. Chociaż w zakresie interpretacji relacje psychologii i literaturoznawstwa wydają się złożone, to jednak dla obu stron mogą być bardzo owocne. Praktyka interpretacji tekstu literackiego w analizie psychologicznej, uwzględniająca kontekst literaturoznawczy, pozwala uniknąć najważniejszych błędów poznawczych, przede wszystkim naiwnego podejścia do tekstu lub psychologizmu.

The article is regarding interdisciplinary links between psychology and literature studies during the in the 20th century. The most important questions concern: 1) relations between the author and the narrator, 2) mimesis - between imitating world (treated as reference) and “mimetic effect”, when both literature and document are treated as fiction, 3) genres as the key for analysis of literary texts. The relationship between psychology and the literature as well as the literature studies have proved to be complicated, but still important and fruitful. The practice of interpretation and the possibility of creating different ways of making the text accessible to others can rebuild the bond of literature with psychology without falling down into the mistake of naivety or psychologism.
