Code switching between students of Portuguese Philology on the Jagiellonian University

Praca „Code switching wśród studentów filologii portugalskiej na Uniwersytecie Jagiellońskim” ma na celu zbadanie wpływów znajomości języków obcych, w tym głównie języka portugalskiego, na mowę konkretnej grupy osób. Przy użyciu ankiet online zbadani zostali studenci filologii portugalskiej, którzy w odpowiedziach opisali sytuacje, gdzie znajomość języka portugalskiego ma wpływ na ich sposób wypowiadania się podczas codziennych rozmów z różnym gronem osób. W części teoretycznej opisane są elementy związane ze znajomością oraz nauką języków obcych, natomiast część praktyczna opiera się na analizie ankiet. W części tej przedstawione są również ich wyniki, które pokazują w jaki sposób i dlaczego wśród studentów dochodzi do zjawiska code switching.

The thesis „Code switching between students of Portuguese Philology on the Jagiellonian University” aims to investigate the impact of knowledge of foreign languages, mainly Portuguese, on the speech of a specific group of people. Through online surveys, students of Portuguese Philology were surveyed and described situations in which the knowledge of the Portuguese language influences their way of speaking during everyday conversations with a different group of people. The theoretical part describes elements related to the knowledge and learning of foreign languages, while the practical part is based on the analysis of questionnaires. This section also presents their results, which show how and why code switching occurs among students.

A tese “Alternância de códigos entre estudantes de Filologia Portuguesa na Universidade Jaguelónica” tem como objetivo analisar o impacto do conhecimento de línguas estrangeiras, principalmente do português, na oralidade de um grupo concreto de pessoas. Através dos inquéritos feitos online foram entrevistados estudantes de Filologia Portuguesa, que descreveram situações em que o conhecimento da língua portuguesa influencia a forma de falar durante as conversas quotidianas com grupos diferentes de pessoas. A parte teórica descreve os elementos relacionados com o conhecimento e aprendizagem de línguas estrangeiras, enquanto a parte prática é baseada na análise de questionários. Esta secção apresenta também os seus resultados, que mostram como e porque a alternância de códigos ocorre entre os estudantes.
