Changes in the process of training lifeguards in 2009-2014

Wejście w życie ustawy z dnia 18 sierpnia 2011 roku o bezpieczeństwie osób przebywających na obszarach wodnych spowodowało znaczne zmiany odnośnie uzyskania tytułu ratownika wodnego. Wodne Ochotnicze Pogotowie Ratunkowe poprzez ten sam akt prawny utraciło monopol na prowadzenie działań związanych z ratownictwem wodnym, przez co uprawnienia te uzyskały inne podmioty poprzez zgodę ministra. Następne wprowadzone zmiany poprzez rozporządzenie ministra z dnia 21 czerwca 2012 roku ustaliły wymagania dotyczące zdobycia stopnia ratownika. Naruszenie struktury wewnętrznej stworzonej przez WOPR w celach szkoleń ratowników poskutkowało zmniejszeniem ogólnej liczby godzin wymaganych przez szkolenie, usunięciem wymaganych praktyk, testów sprawnościowych, spowodowało to przekazywanie tej samej wiedzy co wcześniej w mniejszym czasie przez co świeżo wyszkolony ratownik posiada mniejszą wiedzę niż posiadałby przed rokiem 2012.

The entry into force of the Act of August 18, 2011 on the safety of people staying in water areas resulted in significant changes in obtaining the title of water lifeguard. The Water Volunteer Rescue Service, through the same legal act, lost its monopoly on water rescue activities, which resulted in other entities obtaining these rights with the consent of the minister. Subsequent changes introduced by the ordinance of the minister of June 21, 2012 established the requirements for obtaining the degree of water lifeguard. Violation of the internal structure created by WOPR for the training of rescuers resulted in a reduction of the total number of hours required for the training, removal of required practices, no endurance tests, it resulted in the transfer of the same knowledge as before in a shorter time, which means that a newly trained rescuer has less knowledge than he would have had before 2012.
