The „Pronomos Vase” is undoubtledly the most significant pieces of evidence for understanding of Greek theatre. The vase is important becouse of its definite reference to theatrical usage: this is evidence by the masks (of the chorus and the actors). We can classify, therefore, the costumes of satyrs and theatrical actors in their characteristic pose and dance-step. From this point of view, the autor focused later presentation of the masks painted on vase and made as a sculptures. The borderline in metamorphose of the mask, the autor put on commedia dell’arte (XVII s.). Before this time, the masks were realistic in character, although their features and expressions were exaggerated (as well as the cothurni finely made boots and did not incrase the actor’s height nor obstruct his gestes and movements). Now, in the atelier of the maskmakers, we can observe the replication of technical process „how do do the masks” based on italian (venetian) school of the fabrication of the masks.pl
