Głównym celem tej pracy jest koncentrowanie się na znaczeniu ruchu podczas zajęć z języka angielskiego w pierwszej klasie szkoły podstawowej. Jest on bardzo ważnym elementem podczas nauki i odgrywa istotną rolę w rozwoju. Metodą użytą w tej pracy jest metoda TPR, która skupia się na aktywności fizycznej podczas zajęć. W trakcie wcześniejszej obserwacji można było zauważyć, że podczas lekcji języka angielskiego, uczniowie pierwszej klasy nie mieli wiele możliwości by się ruszać. Pięć ćwiczeń ruchowych zostało wprowadzonych by zapewnić uczniom odpowiednią dawkę aktywności fizycznej. Mimo, że każde ćwiczenie nie trwało dłużej niż 15 minut, uczniom się one podobały i chętnie się w nie angażowały. Wprowadzenie takich zabaw jest bardzo ważne, ponieważ dzieci traktują je jako zabawę, podczas gdy tak naprawdę podświadomie się uczą.

Teaching English as a second language, or teaching in general, is a tough nut to crack if one wants to do it well. This paper focuses on the importance of movement in teaching. It does not come as a surprise that there is a connection between body and mind so the main goal of the introduced exercises was to enhance students’ learning processes through physical activity.The method used in this project was the Total Physical Response method which comprises teaching via moving. A short exercise was introduced during each English classes and students’ engagement was observed. Undeniably, it was a success because pupils were learning eagerly and enjoyed the lesson. Nevertheless, the process of learning and the actual relationship between body and mind is still a matter of investigation of much research.From biological point of view, there has been many attempts to fully understand human brain but it is still a mystery for scientists and undoubtedly will remain one for a long time. Nonetheless, some light was shed on such processes as memory and learning. Even though they are complex, this paper tries to present some basic information about them.
