The U.S. role in the process of building Inter-American System

Niniejsza praca licencjacka jest analizą wkładu Stanów Zjednoczonych w procesie budowy systemu międzyamerykańskiego od zakończenia drugiej wojny światowej do lat współczesnych. Praca opisuje złożoną problematykę tego zagadnienia: proces budowy systemu międzyamerykańskiego, jak i zagrożenia z niego wynikające. Zadaniem tej pracy jest ukazanie poziomu zaangażowania USA w tworzeniu systemu bezpieczeństwa zachodniej hemisfery. Dlatego praca jest również analizą możliwości militarnych i gospodarczych narzędzi prowadzenia polityki zagranicznej Stanów Zjednoczonych – bezpośrednich interwencji zbrojnych oraz programów pomocy gospodarczejw państwach Ameryki Łacińskiej. Z drugiej strony praca pokazuję próbę i ostateczny sukces emancypacji państw Ameryki Łacińskiej spod hegemonii USA i stopniowe ograniczanie amerykańskiego zaangażowania w tym regionie w okresie post zimnowojennym. Praca nie podejmuje zagadnień związanych jedynie z tworzeniem międzyamerykańskiego systemu prawnego, ale opisuje również jego zastosowanie w praktyce. System międzyamerykański nie jest bowiem tylko sumą aktów prawnych, ale obejmuje przede wszystkie kwestie: społeczno-gospodarcze i militarno-polityczne. Będąc systemem bezpieczeństwa zachodniej hemisfery, jest kluczowym narzędziem do walki z zagrożeniami regionalnymi: narkobiznesem i nielegalną migracją, których opisem poświęcona jest właśnie ta praca.

This Bachelor's thesis is an analysis of the role of the United States in the process of building the Inter-American system since the end of World War II to the modern years. It describes the complex issues in this regard: both the process of building the Inter-American system and the risks resulting from it. The purpose of this work is to show the level of US involvement in the creation of Western’s security system. Therefore, thesis analyzes also the possibility of military and economic tools conduct of US foreign policy - military intervention and economic programs in the countries of Latin America. On the other hand, this thesis highlights the work and the ultimate success of the emancipation of Latin American countries under the hegemony of the US and the gradual reduction of US involvement in the region in the post Cold War era. The work does not take issues related only to the creation of the Inter-American legal system, but also describes its implementation in practice. Inter-American system is not only the sum of the acts, but includes all the above issues: social, military, political and economic. As a security system of western hemisphere, it is a key tool in the fight against regional threats: drug trafficking, illegal migration and many others.
