Wstęp: U dzieci ok 60% guzów OUN zlokalizowanych jest podnamiotowo. Głównym etapem leczenia jest zabieg chirurgiczny, polegający na resekcji zmian nowotworowych. W wielu przypadkach konieczne jest usunięcie nie tylko zmienionych chorobowo tkanek, ale i otaczających je obszarów mózgu, co może pogłębić występujące deficyty neurologiczne. Program rehabilitacji musi być indywidualnie dopasowany do pacjenta. Polega na zapobieganiu lub likwidacji powikłań leczenia onkologicznego.Cel pracy: 1. Ukazanie procesu rehabilitacji dziecka po operacji usunięcia guza z ośrodkowego układu nerwowego oraz ocena funkcjonalna pacjenta. Materiał i metody: Praca opiera się o opis przypadku, 4 letniego chłopca z guzem ośrodkowego układu nerwowego. W pracy wykorzystano autorski protokół badania przedmiotowego oraz ocenę stanu funkcjonalnego. Wyniki: Po przeprowadzonym leczeniu neurochirurgicznym oraz zastosowanej rehabilitacji zaobserwowano poprawę w zakresie funkcjonowania pacjenta.Wnioski: Rehabilitacja stanowi kluczową rolę w postępowaniu pooperacyjnym po usunięciu guza OUN.

Introduction: About 60% pediatric CNS tumors are located in the subtentorial area. Surgical operation is the main stage of treatment and includes the resection of neoplastic findings. Most cases require the method of removing pathologically-alerted tissues as well as surrounding brain areas, which may intensify neurological deficits. Each patient needs to have individual programme of rehabilitation. It will help to prevent or eliminate postoperative complications.The aim of this work: Demonstration of the process of rehabilitation in a case of pediatric CNS tumor removal and assessment of the patient’s functionalities. The material and the method: This work contains patient’s history of 4 years old boy diagnosed with CNS tumor. Proprietary protocol of physical examination and assessment of the functional status was also used in this work.The results: Major improvement in the functioning of the patient was observed after neurosurgical treatment and the rehabilitation. The conclusions: Doubtlessly, rehabilitation plays a key role in a postoperative proceeding, especially after pediatric CNS tumor removal.
