Tematem niniejszej pracy magisterskiej jest działalność organizacji pro-life i pro-choice w Stanach Zjednoczonych. Temat niezmiernie złożony ze względu na podejście Amerykanów do aborcji i prawa które w USA obowiązuje. Wszystkie te organizacje podejmują szereg działań, które mają przekonać ludzi do ich racji, celem pracy było udowodnienie tezy, iż zarówno organizacje pro-life i pro-choice używają tych samych narzędzi do pozyskania sojuszników.Omawiane organizacje są jednymi z najstarszych działających na terenie Stanów Zjednoczonych, ich zasięg obejmuje cały kraj, a w poszczególnych stanach prężnie działają ich filie. W każdej grupie (pro-life i pro-choice) wybrano takie organizacje, które zajmują się prawem regulującym dostęp do aborcji, są skierowane do młodych i które są uważane za największe.Celem pracy jest nie tylko pokazanie historii poszczególnych organizacji, ale przedstawienie historii ruchu pro-life i pro-choice, w który wpisują się różnego rodzaju działania, które podejmują organizacje aby pokazać swoje racje. Opis funkcjonowania i sposobów ich finansowania pozwolił na zrozumienie ich działalności oraz wpływów jakie posiadają. Rozdział pierwszy wyjaśnia czym są organizacje pozarządowe, jakie jest ich zadanie i po co powstają. Znalazło się tam również wyjaśnienie wszelkiej terminologii, która stosowana jest w analizie III sektora, opisane zostały różne nazwy, którymi jest on określany, rodzaje organizacji działających w jego ramach oraz ich funkcjonowanie. Rozdział przedstawia nie tylko historię organizacji pozarządowych na świecie, ale w sposób szczegółowy ich rozwój i zmiany w Stanach Zjednoczonych. Rozdział drugi w całości poświęcony został organizacjom pro-life działającym w Stanach Zjednoczonych. Przedstawione zostały trzy najstarsze organizacje jakimi są: National Right to Life, American Life League i Americans United for Life. Oprócz zarysu historycznego tych organizacji, pokazano tutaj główne działania jakie podejmują te organizacje. W kolejnym rozdziale opisane zostały organizacje pro-choice. Planned Parenthood, National Abortion Federation oraz NARAL Pro-Choice America, to trzy stowarzyszenia, których historia i działania zostały pokazane w tym rozdziale. Ostatni, czwarty rozdział przedstawia analizę działalności opisywanych wcześniej organizacji. Analizie poddano media, czyli to, na jakich płaszczyznach działają organizacje, co publikują, jak prowadzą swoje strony internetowe oraz portale społecznościowe. Następnie przyjrzano się akcjom, jakie przygotowują i przeprowadzają organizacje pro-life i pro-choice. Rozdział czwarty to również analiza zaangażowania poszczególnych organizacji w politykę, poparcie dla poszczególnych kandydatów na urząd prezydenta, a w szczególności w proces tworzenia nowych ustaw.

The subject of this master thesis is the activity of pro-life and pro-choice organizations in the United States. The subject is extremely complex due to the approach of the Americans to abortion and the American abortion law. All these organizations take a series of actions to persuade people to their right, the aim of the study was to prove the thesis that pro-life and pro-choice organizations use the same tools to find allies.These organizations are the oldest in the United States, their range covers the whole country, and moreover their branches dynamically operate in every state. In each group (pro-life and pro-choice) author selected organizations that deal with the law that regulates access to abortion that are directed to young people and which are considered to be the biggest.The aim of the thesis was to show the history of individual organizations, and to present the history of the pro-life and pro-choice movement. All kinds of activities, that the organizations take, show their rations. Description of functioning and financing of NGOs helped to understand their business and the influence they have.The first chapter explains what non-governmental organizations are, what they do and why they come into existence. There are explanation of the terminology that is used in the analysis of the third sector, the different names by which it is determined, the types of organizations operating within its framework and its functioning. The chapter presents not only the history of non-governmental organizations in the world, but in detail the development and changes in the United States’ NGOs. The second chapter is devoted to the pro-life organizations operating in the United States. It presents the three oldest organizations which are: National Right to Life, the American Life League and Americans United for Life. In addition to the historical outline of the organization, chapter shows the main activities that these organizations take. The next chapter describes the pro-choice organizations. Planned Parenthood, the National Abortion Federation and NARAL Pro-Choice America are associations that the history and activities are shown in this chapter. The last, fourth chapter presents an analysis of organizations activities. Author analyzed the media, publications, websites and social networks. Then the author looked at the actions that pro-life and pro-choice organizations prepare. The fourth chapter is also the analysis of the involvement of the different organizations in politics, support for individual candidates for the office of president, and in particular in the process of creating new laws.
