Research ethnogenesis of Slavs in order to verify the location of the original cradle of the Slavs of many years are a major problem in the Polish science. Importantly global scientific reports over the past few years led to the development of accurate testing methods for solving this problem. Currently mainly used molecular methods that allowed to verify the previous results and assumptions. However, it seems that in this case the biggest problem is not the methodology of testing whether their results, but the lack of a holistic approach and the closing of certain groups of scientists on new methods of cognition. In this paper we focus on a review of currently widely used methods of anthropology and molecular analysis of the original assumptions complicating the problem. Cited data from a variety of sources clearly indicate the continuity of settlement basin of the Oder and Vistula, and thus in favor of the theory of autochthonous.
