Phytoestrogens- impact on health and skin

Fitoestrogeny to związki chemiczne występujące w wielu roślinach, o budowie podobnej do naturalnych estrogenów. Obecne są w kwiatach, liściach, korzeniach, nasionach. U roślin pełnią funkcje grzybobójcze, przeciwutleniające i budulcowe. Źródłem fitoestrogenów jest soja i jej przetwory, nasiona roślin strączkowych, winogrona oraz liście zielonej herbaty. Naśladując działanie estrogenów endogennych potrafią wpływać na wiele procesów zachodzących w organizmie człowieka. W niniejszej pracy przedstawiono klasyfikację i występowanie fitoestrogenów w przyrodzie, a także opisano ich wpływ na zdrowie i skórę.

Phytoestrogens are naturally-occuring plant compounds, structurally similar to natural estrogens. They occure in a variety of plants, flowers leaves, roots and seeds. Phytoestrogens show a multiple functions in plants, they act as antioxidants and exert protective action from fungi. The major source of phytoestrogens is soy and soy-based products, legumes, grapes and green tea leaves. They can imitate the action of endogenous estrogens and affect many processes in the human body. This thesis presents the classification and the occurrence of phytoestrogens in nature, as well as their impact on health and skin.
