Celem pracy jest ustalenie jednolitej typologii i chronologii dzbanów do piwa z terenu Górnego i Dolnego Egiptu w okresie od początku ich występowania do końca trwania Starego Państwa (Nagada II – VI Dynastii). Zabytki ceramiczne, o których mowa w tekście pojawiają się masowo w wyjątkowo zestandaryzowanych formach wraz z początkiem funkcjonowania ośrodków browarniczych. Dzbany na piwo pozwalają na wgląd w ekonomię kraju, politykę, a nawet życie religijne. Ceramika w Starożytnym Egipcie to ważny element datujący, a zmienność typologiczna tych dzbanów pozwala na niezwykle dokładne ustalenie datowań warstw osadniczych oraz chronologii obiektów grobowych. Wybór stanowisk, dokonany przy tworzeniu tej pracy, pozwala na zestawienie faz występowania konkretnych form dzbanów na piwo na terenie całego Egiptu. Niniejsza praca zwraca uwagę na prawie równoczasowe pojawianie się danych typów dzbanów w okresie predynastycznym i protodynastycznym na Południu i Północy kraju, ciągłość tradycji nagadyjskich we wczesnym Starym Państwie oraz ogromne zróżnicowanie typologiczne i regionalne w młodszych fazach tego okresu.

The focus of this paper is to establish a uniform typology and chronology of beer jars from Upper and Lower Egypt in the period from the beginning of their occurrence to the end of the Old Kingdom (Naqada II - VI Dynasty). Ceramic monuments referred in the text appear as bulk quantities with a very standardized forms with the start of the functioning of the brewing centers. Beer jars enable insight into the country's economy, politics, and even religious life.Ceramics in Ancient Egypt is a significant element of dating, typological variability of these jars enables extremely precise determination of dating of the layers at settlement sites and chronology of the burial objects. The choice of sites, which was made during the creation of this work, allows to correlate the phase of the occurrence of specific beer jars forms throughout Egypt. This paper draws attention to the almost contemporaneous appearance of the types of beer jars in the Predynastic and Protodynastic Period in the Southern and the Northern Egypt, the continuity of Naqada traditions in the early Old Kingdom and the typological and regional diversity in the younger phases of this period.
