W niniejszej pracy autorka analizuje rolę afektów, emocji i odczuwania w procesie tworzenia powieści i ich interpretacji na przykładzie wybranych utworów Tadeusza Konwickiego. Bada ona płaszczyzny powieściowe i pozatekstowe konteksty, których wzajemna relacja powoduje uruchomienie mechanizmów afektywnych zawartych w tekście. Zauważa napięcia i intensywność w prozie skontrastowane z doświadczeniem pustki, jak i nagłe zerwania narracji obok nieustannych powtórzeń jednej opowieści. Te elementy wskazują na nieumiejętność werbalizacji doświadczenia lub nieadekwatność opisu językowego do samego przeżycia. Autorka podkreśla też czynny udział czytelnika w procesie generowania znaczeń i jego aktywność w polu afektywnym.Praca ma na celu dowartościowanie roli uczuć i afektów w procesie poznania i funkcjonowania w świecie.

The author analyses the role of affects, emotions and feelings in the creation and the interpretation of Tadeusz Konwicki's novels. She examines the structure levels and the contexts which – interacting with each other – cause affective mechanisms to activate. She observes inability to verbalize experience and language/experience inadequacy based on a text tension and intensity in contrast to emptiness feeling as well as discontinuous narrative and unceasing repetition of the same story.She also emphasizes the active participation of the reader in the process of generating meanings by entering the structure of affective interaction.The aim of this essay is to appreciate the role of affects and feelings in the process of cognition and existence in the world.
