Wojna to zjawisko towarzyszące człowiekowi od samego początku organizacji społecznej. Każda z nich, niezależnie od zasięgu i czasu trwania, rządzi się swoimi prawami i prowadzi do różnych skutków. Jednak jej nieodłącznymi elementami są zniszczenie, strach i cierpienie. Często jedyną formą sprzeciwu i manifestacji własnych odczuć i przekonań jest literatura. W niniejszej pracy omówiono przyczyny, przebieg i skutki wojny, którą rozpoczęła iracka inwazja na Kuwejt w 1990 r. Obok ogólnej charakterystyki literatury tego okresu przedstawiono najważniejsze postacie, z uwzględnieniem kwestii, na których skupili się pisarze poruszający tę tematykę. Główną część pracy stanowi analiza sposobu przedstawienia wojny w twórczości jednej z pisarek Zatoki - Ṯurayyi Al-Baqṣamī, która była naocznym świadkiem tamtych wydarzeń.

War is a phenomenon accompanying human from the beginning of social organization.Each of them, regardless of the extent and duration, has its own rules and leads to different effects. However, its inherent elements are destruction, fear and anguish. Often the only form of demur and demonstration of own feelings and beliefs is literature. This work discusses the causes, course and consequences of the war, which began with the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990. Apart from the general characteristics of the literature of this period, it presents the most important figures, including the issues on which writers taking this subject up have focused. The main part of the work is the analysis of the representation of war in the works of one of the writers of the Gulf - Turayyā Al-Baqṣamī, who was an eyewitness of those events.
