The subject of the research described in the disseration is literary output of young Ukrainian artists – Sofia Anrukhovych and Natalia Sniadanko. The main aim is to verify whether these two authors keep continuing the ideas of the first Ukrainian feminist activists – Marko Vovchok, Olha Kobylianska, Olena Pchilka, Lesya Ukrainka and Nataliya Kobrynska, who fought bravely for women rights and sex equality. The first chapter is a historical background for the whole analysis as it shortly shows the history and the essence of women movements and the equal rights fight, starting from the XVII century France and America. The second one is a portrait of the most influential women of Ukraine in XVIII and XIX centuries, changes which they implemented in the society and what is more, their literary contribution in the national culture. The third part of the thesis is a description of the contemporary situation of women in Ukraine and the movements they have created. The main analysis and criticism of the collection of narrations of Sofia Andrukhovych „The women of their men” and novel of Natalia Sniadanko „The collection of the passions”, which are focused on the construction of the female characters and the attitude of the authors in the discourse of feminism, are also included in this chapter. |
