Dyptotyzm jest jednym z typów deklinacji obecnych w języku arabskim. Charakteryzuje go występowanie dwóch wykładników przypadka, brak rodzajnika nieokreślonego i fakt, ze dyptoty, gdy są gramatycznie określone, odmieniają się w deklinacji tryptotycznej.Celem niniejszej pracy jest ustalenie pochodzenia deklinacji dyptotycznej we współczesnym arabskim języku literackim. W tym celu przeanalizowano materiał źródłowy i wyodrębniono czynniki, które wpłynęły na przynależność wyrazu do odmiany dyptotycznej. Na tej podstawie możliwe było ustalenie kierunku „ekspansji” dyptotyzmu, który początkowo obejmował imiona osobowe, a następnie rzeczowniki pospolite, przymiotniki i liczebniki.

The diptosis is one of declension types in the Arabic language. It is characterized by a presence of two case endings, a lack of the indefinite article and the fact, that diptotes, while they are gramatically definite, fall into the triptotic declension.The aim of this thesis is to establish the origin of the diptotic declension in Modern Standard Arabic. For this purpose, examples of diptotes have been analyzed and several factors, which make a word fall into the diptotic declension, have been extracted. On this basis, it was possible to establish the direction of the “expansion” of the diptosis, which included in the beginning proper names and then, common nouns, adjectives and numerals.
