The Author in his paper proves that the nature of modern warfare affects the psycho-physical attributes of a soldiers. Work includes an analysis of the most important theoretical concepts for the research of "new wars" and the characteristics of the most popular performance-enhancing drugs. According to the Author, changes in the conduct of modern warfare (including: new actors operating on the battlefield, strategy, measures and level of violence) represent a new challenge for military personnel of the most advanced armies in the world. The author tries to answer the question whether medicaments and new military technologies will cope with this challenge.
