Praca stanowi analizę zagadnienia odpowiedzialności konstytucyjnej prezydenta Stanów Zjednoczonych. Opisuje formy odpowiedzialności prezydenta USA w kontekście jego pozycji ustrojowej oraz stopień możliwości ich realnego zastosowania w praktyce. Zwraca również szerzej uwagę na przyjętą i zmodyfikowaną przez amerykański system instytucję impeachmentu. Tłem dla omawianej problematyki jest ogólne omówienie modeli odpowiedzialności głowy państwa we współczesnych systemach politycznych. W części praktycznej przedstawione zostały dotychczasowe trzy próby usunięcia prezydenta USA ze stanowiska w procedurze impeachmentu.

The work is an analysis of the issue of constitutional responsibility of the President of the United States. It describes the forms of responsibility of the US President in the context of his political position and the degree of their actual use in practice. It also draws attention to the institution of impeachment, adopted and modified by the american system. The background for these issues is a general overview of models of responsibility of the head of state in modern political systems. In the practical part, the work presents the previous three attempts to remove the US President from the office in the impeachment procedure.
