Praca porusza temat zarządzania granicami Strefy Schengen. Celem jest przedstawienie tła historycznego oraz problematyki materialno - prawnej związanej ze swobodnym przekraczaniem granic wewnętrznych oraz przekraczaniem granic zewnętrznych Strefy Schengen. Praca składa się z trzech rozdziałów. W pierwszym opisana jest geneza współpracy granicznej w Europie, w drugim funkcjonowanie strefy Schengen w odniesieniu do polityki azylowej, wizowej i imigracyjnej. Trzeci rozdział dotyczy zintegrowanego zarządzania granicami. Poruszone są w nim zagadnienia dotyczące zasad zapisanych w Kodeksie Granicznym Schengen oraz przebieg jego reformy jaki dokonał się po wydarzeniach związanych z Arabską Wiosną. W tym rozdziale znajdują się również informacje na temat sposobu funkcjonowania i rzeczywistych działań Agencji Frontex.

This Master’s thesis presents historical background and substantive issues related to the free crossing of internal borders and the crossing of the external borders of the Schegen Area. The thesis consists of three chapters. The first one describes genesis of development of Schengen cooperation and extension of the Schengen Area. Second chapter describes relations between Schengen Area and common EU immigration, asylum and visa policies. The third chapter contains information about integrated border management. It presents rules of Schengen Borders Code and describes the reform of the Code after the Arab Spring. In thesis, there is also information about operating principles and actual activities of the European Agency for the Management of Operational Cooperation at the External Borders of the Member States of the European Union (Frontex).
